In short: We use essential storage to run the site. With your permission, we also use cookies and similar technology for analytics and advertising, including personalised ads. You choose, and you can change your mind at any time.
1. Your choices
When you first visit, we ask what you’re happy for us to use. Essential storage is always on. Analytics and advertising stay off unless you allow them, and rejecting them doesn’t stop you using any part of VacationMe.

2. Essential (always on)
These keep the site working and remember your settings. They are stored in your browser’s local or session storage, on your device only.

Services you choose to use may also set their own essential cookies: Google when you sign in with Google, and Stripe when you pay by card (including to help prevent fraud).
3. Analytics (only if you allow it)
Measures how people use VacationMe — which pages are visited, how long searches take, where people get stuck — so we can improve it.

4. Advertising (only if you allow it)
VacationMe shows ads. With your permission, we and our advertising partners use cookies and similar technology to:
- show you ads, and limit how often you see the same one;
- measure whether ads work;
- personalise ads based on your activity on VacationMe and, through our partners, on other sites.
If you don’t allow advertising, you may still see ads, but they won’t be personalised and no advertising cookies will be set.

5. Marketing emails
We only send marketing emails if you’ve opted in (Settings → Preferences → Deals & inspiration). Those emails may contain small tracking images and tracked links, which tell us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can send offers that are more relevant to you. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn them off in Settings at any time.

6. Changing your mind
Use Cookie settings at any time; your new choice applies straight away. You can also clear site data in your browser settings, and we’ll ask you again on your next visit. Signing out removes your sign-in token.
