Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use VacationMe (the website and its services), including searching and booking travel, joining the community, and buying or gifting coins. By using VacationMe you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

VacationMe is currently a demo that is still being built. Features may change, stop working or be removed, and some payments may run in test mode.

• You need an account to book, post, message, follow people or use coins. Browsing is open to everyone.
• You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live.
• Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. See the Data Deletion Policy for what that removes.

• Fares and availability come from Travelport, our booking partner, and change constantly. A price is only guaranteed once your booking is confirmed.
• When you book, we reserve the flights with the airline (you receive a booking reference), then take payment and issue your e-tickets. Your contract for the flight itself is with the airline, under its conditions of carriage and the rules of the fare you chose.
• Check that traveller names and dates of birth match each traveller’s passport or ID exactly. Airlines may refuse boarding or charge for corrections.
• You are responsible for passports, visas, health requirements and arriving on time.
• Changes, cancellations and refunds follow the fare rules. See the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
• Hotel, car rental and cruise search are for browsing only; they can’t be booked online yet.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number when you pay by card through Stripe; for saved cards we keep only a reference to your Stripe customer record, and show the card brand, last four digits and expiry that Stripe gives us. Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and include the taxes and fees listed in the price breakdown.

• Coins let you thank other travellers by gifting them to posts you like.
• Coins are sold in packs (for example, 100 coins for US$1.00). They are added to your wallet once payment succeeds.
• Coins are a virtual item with no cash value. They can’t be exchanged for money, withdrawn or transferred except by gifting them on VacationMe.
• Gifts are final: when you gift coins to a post, they go to the post’s author and can’t be taken back.
• You can’t gift coins to your own posts. A single gift is between 1 and 1,000 coins.
• Purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. See the Cancellation & Refund Policy.

• You keep ownership of the photos, videos and words you post. You give VacationMe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, show and share them on VacationMe for as long as they are on the site.
• Only post things you have the right to share, and follow our Community Guidelines.
• Posts, profiles and comments are public: anyone can see them, even without an account.
• We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or the guidelines.

• Break the law, or help anyone else do so.
• Make bookings you don’t intend to use, or use someone else’s payment card without permission.
• Harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post spam.
• Try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of the site.

• VacationMe shows ads, some of them from other companies. We’re not responsible for advertisers’ products, services or websites.
• Whether ads are personalised, and whether we use analytics, is up to you: see Cookies & Tracking.
• We send marketing emails only if you opt in, and you can stop them at any time. See the Privacy Policy.

VacationMe relies on other companies, including Travelport (flights and hotels), Stripe (payments), Google (optional sign-in), and free map and weather services. Their own terms apply to what they provide. Links to other websites, such as search results for a place, are provided for convenience.

We work to keep VacationMe accurate and available, but we provide it “as is”. As a demo, it may contain errors or be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by airlines or other providers, by events outside our control, or by information you entered incorrectly. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can’t be limited.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use VacationMe means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of [governing law to be added].
